...but my hair is a BIG part of me! Hair is a woman's crown & glory and one of our biggest HEADACHES. It's the one thing that is appreciated by all - everyone notices pretty hair. (Side note: by pretty I don't mean "good hair" but any hair (style, cut, color, etc.) that compliments you!) So I have a couple of products to recommend. (Disclaimer: I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but I have found some things that work for me & I want to share my find with you!)
Okay let me first share some things about me (and you can decide if these products are realistic for you). My hair is naturally curly & I don't have a relaxer (or any other chemicals for that matter - all my color has basically grown out). So now you can make a totally informed decision.
I have one major hair problem: DRY, ITCHY, & SOMETIMES FLAKY SCALP. I have tried many, many corrective measures (even extra virgin olive oil) but nothing has completely worked. But I think I've found a solution: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Active Soothing Conditioner (it's part of their Professional line). I used it this morning & it just tingled away (a very good sign). The directions recommend using it at least twice a week. As I said, this is my first time using but I have a very good feeling about it.
I also recommend Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo. It thoroughly moisturizes hair without weighing it down, leaving you with a very natural-looking sheen (don't I sound like a commercial LOL).
A good conditioner for hair (as opposed to scalp) is John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Rehydrate. It deep conditions without weighing hair down and it prevents unsightly frizz.
I don't use these products every time I wash, more like every other wash or once a month. I use Suave's Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner on a regular basis. You know how the commercials say you get salon-quality products without paying "salon-quality" prices, well they're not lying. This product is exactly like Matrix's Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner (I mean smell & everything!)
Well that's it for now but I'm sure I'll have more tips & recommendations soon!

I was a little depressed for a minute but I decided to turn this little blemish into beauty mark! So I've applied for 2 more jobs and there are 3 more on the list. Oh they can't stop me because I'm on the move WATCH OUT!!!

You've Been Robbed!
This post is brought to you by Notorious BIG's Playa Hater.
Okay so now I will tell you about the biggest, saddest face of Spring Break (and my whole life for that matter)! I was a victim of IDENTITY THEFT [insert mysterious sounding music]. Some horrible person that prolly has stinky breath & bad hair illegally withdrew about $1,500 out of my account [insert the Wendy Williams wows]. I know I can't believe it either. The ugly culprits made several withdrawals ranging from $200 to $400 from two different ATM's in British Columbia & Montreal in Canada! They were also making purchases in Wisconsin & Ohio! Yeah they tried to screw me over big time! I don't know how they did it and I will prolly never know; maybe it was an inside job or something. But Bank of America jumped on it very quickly & replaced all my money within about 3 days. So now I'm patiently waiting on a new debit card because this cash only mess is for the birds!
The moral of this story, watch your account 'cause the people are out to get you!

Let's Get Away
This post is brought to you by T.I.'s Trap Muzik!
Okay so I'm already mourning my Spring Break! I had a wonderful time - might have been the best SB so far! (Side bar - I'll be introducing more of the royal court.) I started off by going to Memphis, TN to see my family, friends and most importantly my Godson, The Prince! He is not only my first God-child but also the first baby of the royal court so you know I'm completely in love & he has me wrapped around his finger (and he just 1 month old LOL)! He spent the night with me so I was really able to "play mom." I even had the opportunity to accompany The Prince & Princess Snowflake (that's his mommie & one of my dearest friends) to the doctor. The visit was basically drama free - well The Prince did "tinkle" on the scale but he's still a newborn so it's still cute! It was fun but no I'm not planning any surprises in the next 9 months - The Prince is all I need! I was also able to spend time with my Daddy & Step-Mom - always fun times! And I also picked up a pair of cute shoes! Only one sad face of this part of the trip: Princess Nette (also one of my dearest friends & royal "road dog" LOL) & I weren't able to coordinate our outing but that's okay I'll be back!
The next stop: ATL! I was able to see & spend time with my "other family" The Williams of SW Atlanta! I did a little shopping (which means another pair of shoes) and I went to The Lil' Duke's (that's The Duke's little brother, he's one of my favorites!) baseball game (they didn't win but he played well). There is a BIG sad face for this portion of the trip but I'll tell you all about that in the next post. The following day, The Duke & I set out on the next leg of the trip.
Next stop: Destin, FL. The place was beautiful! I have never seen water so clear & sand so white (they call it"sugar sand"). The water was crystal clear - so clear that we were in 15 ft. of water & I could still see the bottom! I was simply amazed by the water! We went out, got drunk, saw dolphins & stingrays, did some shopping, & ate good food - all the elements of a perfect trip!
Highlight #1: the "Tennessee Girls" trying to "hunch" The Duke! We were at this little spot called Fudpuckers having drinks & we decided to go check out the bong contest. As The Duke walked across the dance floor, a chick came out of nowhere & started dancing on him LOL! And being the good Duke that he is, he quickly walked away I guess he didn't want me to go"ghetto girl" but I was thoroughly entertained by the whole ordeal.
Highlight #2: Number 14 from Whataburger! Trust me this is what you want in your life. It's a chicken biscuit with some kinda honey butter! This was our late-night meal on several occasions. It's so good, especially when you're drunk!
So if you ever get the chance to go to Destin (or anywhere or the Emerald Coast for that matter) go! And after a drunken evening, get a chicken biscuit from Whataburger!

This Lil' Game We Play
This post is brought to you by Subway's Good Times!
This one's kinda long! Okay it's time to meet some of the Royal Court (I'll just introduce those that are pertinent to this story, you'll meet the rest later). First we have my bestest male friend in the world. We've known each other since junior high and I just love him to death - we'll call him The Count. Next we have...how should I put this...let's just say his love interest. We've also known her since childhood and they were reunited about a year ago - we'll call her, well actually she's not really apart of the Royal Court so she can just be Chickee (pronounced Chick - E). And finally (but certainly not least) we have my love interest (or as I call him, my guyfriend). I've known him for about 3 years & we've dating for about 2 - we'll call him The Duke (of Atlanta LOL!).
So on to the dirt . . . The Count & Chickee started dating (just sporadically, nothing serious) last Spring. But then (kinda out of the blue) she has a boyfriend so that ends the dates. However, a couple of months ago Chickee starts calling The Count saying they should hang out & she misses him, etc. So they go to the movies this weekend, she calls the outing a date, makes "googly eyes" at him (LOL I'm quoting The Count) & makes plans for another outing. But she claims that she and the bf are still together & everything is fine. Well if they're still together & happy, why in the hell would she be trying to put the moves on The Count???
Last night The Count & I brainstormed to think of ways he could find out what's really going on and how to classify their relationship. I told him he should ask her "So what does your boyfriend think about us going out like this?" He could then decide what's going on from her response. Just to get another POV, I told The Duke my advice and asked him what he thought of the matter. He responds that The Count just can't come out & ask about the bf but he has to say something like "...I'm going to tell your boyfriend..." I think it would be best to just ask what you want to know but The Duke said that may "mess something up" so you should kinda beat around the bush.
And that brings me to the question of the day: Why do we play so many games??? Why can't we just be straight up with each other?
In the perfect world (well we wouldn't have this dilemma) The Count could just ask Chickee: What are we doing? She would give an easy to understand response (because Ladies we know how "complex" we can be). And all would be fine. But since the world is far from perfect, we're stuck with trying to investigate and decode. So what's your preference: straight up or a bunch of other mess?
'Til Next Time . . . Smooches Lovers!
P.S. Today's sponsors aren't Subway as in Jared's diet plan but Subway the R&B group circa 93-94. You remember! They had the song This Lil Game We Play with the original 702.

Mardi Gras!
This post is brought to you by the great city of New Orleans!
So I'm sitting in class (Bankruptcy - boooorriinnng!) and I can't help but think about what I would have been doing if I were in the N.O. (i.e. 2 yrs ago). Honestly, at this exact time (1:09 p.m. EST 12:09 p.m. CST) on a Fat Tuesday I would prolly be sleep , recovering from a late night on Bourbon & an early morning on St. Charles for the Zulu Parade (gotta get that coconut - oh the memories LOL). If you would have told me then that in just 2 short years I would be missing New Orleans like this, I would've prolly just completely over looked you because obviously you're a bit unstable! But I must admit while I couldn't be more satisfied with where I am now, I find myself reminiscing about those N.O. days. I won't bore you (or incriminate myself as well as others) by going into details about the past, but Iwill say this, LIVE IN THE MOMENT & TAKE TIME TO REALLY ENJOY LIFE!!! (Does that make me sound old? I vote NO!)
In memory of Mardi Gras & New Orleans put on your beads and masks; eat some red beans & rice, jambalaya, etouffee, King cake, and drink a hurricane; listen to Ha by Juvenile; and Josephine Johnny & Walk Like Ronald (those are dances for those of you that are confused)!!!
Happy Mardi Gras Baaeby!

Motivation
This post is brought to you by T.I.'s Urban Legend.
Last Friday Oprah featured several teachers of The Secret (basically a new theory on living a positive life based on the law of attraction). Now I wasn't particularly moved by this theory (praying & working hard has worked wonders for me), however she had an update show on today and I heard a quote that was kinda interesting. One of the teachers of The Secret, James Arthur Ray, said "Trying is failing with honor." Okay so at first I was a little confused but then he explained and it all became very clear (and pretty motivating too). He said that when people try they usually don't succeed (i.e. I'll try to make it to the party - we all know that means you're not coming), so instead of trying we should start doing. So today I made the conscience decision to stop trying & start doing.
And now for your challenge (yep this blog comes with homework) pick one of your goals (maybe start with something small for now) and instead of saying you'll try to accomplish, say you're going to accomplish. Next month reflect on your goal and see if you've accomplished it. Report back & let me know how did. Don't worry I'm going to participate too - my goal is to obtain gainful employment for the summer! GOOD LUCK!
